Final performance of The Little Mermaid, Jr. and "house keeping" reminders . .

Dearest Flutterbye Family,

CONGRATULATIONS!

I cannot begin to tell you how proud I am of each and every cast member.  The energy, the commitment, the smiles, the laughter, the theater games, the long rehearsals, the dances, the very intense tech week…Yes!  They will all be treasured and missed.

We have travelled far together, and have created a very special community of young and caring actors.

The bonds that come from being a Flutterbye member often times blossom into adulthood.

More than once, alumni have maintained their friendships; a few have even attended one another’s weddings and performed during the ceremonies.

A true story indeed.

I have enjoyed working with the cast; learning about each member, hearing how their week has been, and striving, as a “team”, to produce a unique and energized production.

I thank you all your four tireless commitment to the company and to the Arts.  Without theater, our lives would not be as enriched and fulfilled.

Before each cast member leaves today, ALL items must be removed from the Green Room.  Any item left will be discarded.  Camp begins at the Art Center early Monday morning, and we need to be respectful of the space.

If you have not yet paid for your cast member’s T-Shirt, please do so today!!!

I do hope that I will see everyone next season for our musical.  Spread the word, invite your friends!

Avery special “thank you” to all our parent volunteers!  Without your support, this season would not have moved as smoothly.

Be well, be happy, relax, smile.

Lys

And here we go!!

Dear Friends,

Here is the gentle schedule for the week.

Depending on the needs of the show, Thursday’s rehearsal is a TBD.  We always try to give the cast a moment to rest and regroup before opening.  It is our hope that we will not meet on Thursday.

The theater will be open for all cast members starting at 5:00 p.m.  Please do not bring them any earlier.  ALL cast members need to be at the theater by 5:30 p.m. We will begin the run of our show at 6:15 (6:30 p.m.) at the latest.  We would like to have all cast members ready to leave the theater by 9:15 p.m.

If a cast member is late and does not have sufficient time to get ready for rehearsal each night, then we are forced to move our ending time back.

Snacks please for your cast member.  Small items, nothing messy.  Water is a must.  The cast will need books, cards, games, something quiet to do back stage.

ALL phones will be stored safely once our run begins.  If you need to reach your cast member, please call my cell.

There are too many cast members on their phones during rehearsals.  That causes distractions, but most importantly, it keeps the cast from supporting one another and interrupts the sense of community.

Continue to push ticket sales.  At this point, we cannot accommodate any more folks for the Friday night performance.

The cast and crew have worked so very hard.  Spread the word with your friends and family and urge them to come and enjoy a wonderful theater experience.

Peace,

Lys

Items needed for each cast member:

         Hair:
1.   A brush and bobby pins (for all)
2.  Men-hair gel
3.  Mersisters:
Hair spray, “bling” for your hair, or colored ribbons that match your costume.  If you are able to have someone do your hair before the show-that is wonderful.
4.   All other ladies in the cast: hair ties or fun ribbons for your hair as well, and hair spray.

Make-up:
1.   Mersisters: glitter make-up is fine.  Some of you started using it yesterday and it looked great!  Fun “pop” colored eye shadow.  Light colored lipstick, mascara and eye liner. Blush should be a light color as well.
2.  All female cast members: eye shadow that is bright, eyeliner, mascara, and a light blush.
3.  Guys-not to worry-we might put blush on, just so the lights do not wash you out.
